Nadi, the Coral Coast and Mamanuca Islands.

But even though Fiji looks tiny on a word map (seriously sometimes you can’t even see it), this is a country that covers a huge amount of space.

The tourist areas, in contrast to the rest of the country.

There are 333 Fijian Islands and over 100 of them are inhabited. Just getting between the two main islands can take an 8 hour ferry trip alone. Rotuma is the furthest island from mainland Fiji. A whopping 642 km away. That’s a 3hr plane or you can visit by a ferry that leaves once a month.

A fantastic list of activities for anyone coming to Fiji, and wonderful photos too. I thoroughly recommend number 49 for anyone getting off the main islands and a bit further afield – Taveuni has great diving, great scenery and great resorts to suit a range of budgets.
