I was really honoured to be invited to the launch of National Reconciliation Week at Dreamworld’s Corroboree last week. The invitation didn’t really hint much about the event – so the morning literally blew me out of the water.
First of all, we were greeted by a Koala.
Then, we met a baby crocodile.
Listened to the local Indigenous children’s choir sing the National Anthem in their local language which was spine-tingling and should be performed at every national event.
And THEN at the end, this lady was standing holding an animal.
And I thought “what is this possum imposter?”
AND IT WAS A TASMANIAN DEVIL.
AND I PET IT.
AND IT WAS SOFT LIKE A PUPPY.
And it didn’t bite my arm off.
I love her forever.
